It's tough for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batsmen to possess a record if not afforded the chance.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her bow and seven international trophies have come from 10 tries across formats.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort can be debated.

Many contend the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the test that comes when facing a record target and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this innings followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in training, it's been a challenging time because I feel like my form was missing completely," said Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive instincts activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if necessary, we know we can do it."

These statements will be the last rival teams at this championship should hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as leader.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
