Jeffrey Epstein purchased a more modest island - the Little St James - originally in the late 1990s, but subsequently obtained the larger adjacent island in 2016 for around $22.5 million.
This visual evidence indicate he had formulated ambitious plans to transform the substantial island by erecting homes, an amphitheatre, an office beneath the waves and a pool.
