19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player secured his maiden trophy for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.

The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

It is his first championship following the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt since spring of that year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 various tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in Halle previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive approach and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to question if his skill to perform at the elite level was over.

But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, backed up by an improved service.

Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his maiden ATP Tour victory, took control to push for a decider.

He rescued 4 early-game break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a shot at the net area, with his opponent incapable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
